Folk Singer Ben Traverse

July 8 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

| FREE

Folksinger, balladeer, educator, songwriter, and Earthwork Music Collective member Ben Traverse commands a wide array of instruments in their mission to bring the finest traditional folk music into the 21st century. With deep roots in the Great Lakes State, they travel Michigan and beyond telling stories and truths as old as the hills. Ben will provide a broad snapshot of old time, the music that it came from, and the music it influenced. Includes Appalachian music, play parties, British and Celtic balladry, sea shanties, children’s music, and local Great Lakes region traditional music. Traditional music also provides a uniquely raw lens to view culture, both that of the past and how that interfaces with the present.
