Barbara June Gaddy, age 85 of South Haven, MI and Bradenton, FL passed away on Thursday, June 26 after a short illness.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Roy Gaddy, children Laurie (Don) Richards, Lynda Ellinger and Chad (Stephanie) Schuitema. Grandchildren Elijah, Isaak, Aaron, brother Bob (Nancy) Braschler, sister-in-law Joyce Braschler as well as her beloved dog, Happy, who was a constant companion and source of joy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Braschler and June Bauer and her brother, Don Braschler.
Barbara was a graduate of South Haven High School. In 1958, she was crowned Miss South Haven, a title that reflected her beauty inside and out. She was also a graduate of Davenport College. She dedicated many years of service as a court recorder and assistant to the Judge at the 7th District Court, South Haven for 32 years until her retirement. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Villager Condo association in Bradenton, FL, where she spent many happy winters enjoying the sunshine, the pool and dear friends in their close-knit community.
Outside of her career, she was known for her creativity and generosity. As an accomplished crafter, she found great joy in using her embroidery machine to create beautiful, heartfelt gifts for friends and family. Each piece she made carried a bit of her warmth and love, and those who received them will treasure them always.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Filbrandt Chapel 1076 S. Bailey Avenue, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
