LeRoy Nels Severson, aged 92, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Dowagiac, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 12, 1933, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, LeRoy was the beloved son of the late Nels and Stella (Bergum) Severson. A life lived with earnest dedication to family and country, LeRoy’s legacy is one marked by quiet strength and consistent love.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Barbara (Runyan) Severson; his devoted daughter, Patricia (Joel) Majot; and his sisters, Hazel Anderson, Marion Niedzolkowski, and Norma, their memories remained his guiding stars.

A proud Navy veteran, LeRoy dedicated many of his earlier years serving his nation with integrity and courage.

After the sea, LeRoy found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He was a craftsman, an artist of woodwork whose hands shaped birdhouses, signs, shelving, and trim.

Moreover, his genuine love for nature was evident in the way he would instill life in his yard—always savoring a cold Busch Light in the serenity of his own crafted landscape. Life at home was an echo of his inner tranquility, a reflection of a heart that pulsed with quiet joy.

LeRoy’s warm spirit will be remembered and deeply missed by his loving daughter, Susan (Glenn) Millin; his adoring granddaughter, Brittany Dubie; his proud grandson, Kyle Millin; as well as by his cherished great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rylan, Taylyn, Tristan, and Kayden. He also leaves behind his caring sister, Ardis (Tom) Weston, who, along with the rest of the family, will continue to honor his memory by embracing every day with the same strength and decency that LeRoy embodied.

No services will be held at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Buchanan Legion Post 51 or The Timbers of Cass County.
