Gloriana Antonovich Siewert passed away on January 9, 2026, at Lakeland Hospital at the age of 97. She was born to John and Wilhelmina Antonovich on March 2, 1928, in Millburg. Following the death of her mother in 1929, she lived with her foster parents, James and Luella Adams, on Adams Apple Farm in Millburg.

Gloria graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1945 and the US Cadet Nurse Corps at Mercy Hospital in 1948. In 1949, she married Ralph Siewert in Benton Harbor where they made their home. Gloria worked at Mercy Hospital and later as director of nursing at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman. She volunteered with the Office of Civil Defense in the 1950’s. After retirement she volunteered at Woodland Terrace and Lakeland Hospital where she received recognition for 4000 hours of volunteer service. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was a faithful participant in the quilting group. Gloria lived at her home in St. Joseph where she enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and solving jigsaw puzzles with her family and neighbors. Two years ago she moved to Woodland Terrace in Coloma where she was well cared for.

Gloria is survived by her three children, Diane (John) Herrman, Roger Siewert, and Carole (Marc) Keen; her four grandchildren, Jonathan and Ben (Jessica) Herrman, Brendan (Elizabeth) Keen, and Kim (Brent) Huck; her six great-grandchildren, Bodie, Finn, Harper, Reid, Harrison and Louis; her two sisters-in-law, Jean Antonovich and Nancy Schoenow; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1990; her parents and foster parents; her two brothers, Andrew Antonovich and William Schoenow; her half-sister, Helen Zuhl; and her half-brothers, Ferdinand, Edward and John Gerlach.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph, with a luncheon to follow. Visitation with the family will take place before the service from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church at the address above or the charity of your choice.
