Cecil W. Strong

Cecil W. Strong, 61, of Niles, formerly of Berrien Springs, passed away at his residence.

He was born on May 1, 1954 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Cecil W. Sr. and Geraldine (Speckem) Strong.

After graduating from Berrien Springs High School, Cecil began a career as a supervisor at Gast Manufacturing in Benton Harbor. He then developed his trade as a plumber, working for several local companies prior to his retirement. He enjoyed grilling-out, camping, quiet walks and trading stocks. He was also a talented musician, playing the piano and drums and enjoyed listening to Pink Floyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rebakah Schmal and a grandson Kelley Crabtree Jr.

Cecil is survived by his two daughters, Marla (David) Mosberg of Montgomery, Texas and Magen (Kelley) Crabtree of Niles, a son, Patrick Strong (Stacy Sansoucie) of St. Petersburg, Florida, seven grandchildren and two sisters, Angie DeRidder of Douglas, Michigan and Mary (Dennis) Philips of Englewood, Florida.
