Danny was born on May 24, 1945 in Arapahoe, NC to the late Carlos and Pearl (Brinson) Simpson. On July 2, 1968 in Handley, WV he married Judy Marie Baldwin. After 30 years of working with the CSX Railroad he retired in 2011 as a carman. He was a certified locksmith and owned a small engine repair shop. Spending time with his family and making memories was most important to him.
Danny is survived by his wife of 50 years – Judy; his two children – Melanie (Joseph) Margol of Three Oaks, MI and Hope (Terry) Cox of Greensboro, NC; his beloved grandchildren – Joey, Liam, Laurel and Danny; and siblings – Ina Margaret Patterson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Grady (Nancy) Simpson of Greensboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-Kenneth and Franklin.
