ola M. Kean, 80, of Buchanan, MI, was called into Jesus’ loving arms on December 2, 2018.
She was born May 11, 1938 in Bolen, KY to Linza and Mae Handshoe. She was the 3rd of 11 children. On January 17, 1959, she married Dennis “Den” Kean and moved to Watervliet, MI. They raised 5 children. Family was the center of Lola’s universe; taking care of her children and even becoming a foster mom for others. She enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling to see her sisters and brothers, and seeing her grandchildren grow up. Life was hard after losing her son, Dennis Jr., in 1983 and Den in 1987 but she carried on and trusted in Jesus and now is with her Lord and Savior and all beloved family and friends that have passed before her.
Lola is survived by her children, Sandy (Jeff) Burkhard, Barb (Mark) Sebasty, Debbie Kean, Matt (Cherity) Kean, Wanda Niblick, Bonnie Cornett; her beloved grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah, Nicole, Amy, Jessica, Patrick, Daniel; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Buchanan Christian Church, with Pastor Nathan Babcock officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
