Jake Paschall, Jr., 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at his Stevensville home.

A celebration of life service will he held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, also at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.. Jake was born on July 5, 1925, in Bowling Green, KY to Jake, Sr. and Anna (Manley) Paschall and was raised in Paris, TN. After graduating high school, Jake enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Europe during WWII. After returning home he attended the University of Tennessee and majored in accounting and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation Jake moved to Michigan so he could be closer to family.

He worked for the accounting firm of Robert T. Herkner for several years then Whirlpool Corporation where he retired after thirty-three years of service. While at Whirlpool Jake earned his MBA from Michigan State University. He also met and married the love of his life, Maxine Bailey on December 13, 1980. Jake was a fitness enthusiast and a member of the YMCA where he served on the Board of Directors. Jake also served the Department of Human Services for fifteen years, United Way committees, chairman of Finance Committee for Memorial-Mercy Hospital fund drive and the board of Riverview Park Christian Church. Jake and Maxine enjoyed Skiing, ND football, biking, jogging, going to the Southwest Michigan Symphony, Southwest Michigan Economics Club and enjoying New Years Eve at Tosi’s.

Jake is survived by nieces, Beverly (Nick) Oritz of Belmont, CA, Paula (John) Olds of Coloma; nephew, Jan (Abbie) Edwards of Flower Mound, TX; Maxine’s children, Madelien (Rick) Harris, Brett (Cindy) Bailey, Ken (Joy) Bailey, Lisa (Terry) Teeter, Laura Bailey and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
