Maurice Riley Emmett Camacho liked to collect rocks, play games, ride his bike, and be with papa & mama, “Momo” brought great joy to his family.

The youngest son of Rick and Heidi Camacho tragically died from a choking episode. Momo leaves behind not only his heartbroken parents but also eleven siblings: Jason (Natalie) Howe, Allisha (Larry) Rindfield, Nikolas (Jesse) Herr, Steven (Kristin Berens) Camacho, Stefani, Jaebie, Rian, Avalon, Traetan, Alexa, and Lillianna Camacho.

Most of his nieces and nephews are older than him, but it was fun to say “Uncle Momo”! His nieces and nephews are Kimberlee and Wesley Howe; Aidan, Lucas and Landan (with whom he shares a birthday) Rindfield. Leeyam and Brynlee Herr; and Kameron and Kyrah Jones (also his best friends).

Aunt Del (Camacho) was a very special person in his life. She has helped care and guide him and she loved him dearly. His large family includes Grandpa and Grandma Hulick, Grandma Howe and many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Momo was an affectionate, bright, thoughtful, fun-loving boy. He liked to laugh, tease his siblings, collect rocks, play games, ride his bike, say his alphabet, play basketball with papa and love on his mama. Moments before his accident, he had been singing at the top of his lungs, praises to God for his food.

We are blessed to be Momo’s papa and mama. His life was short, but he brought so much joy to our home. We wanted to share that joy with families through a “Gift of Life” donation of his organs. The Helen Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids gave Momo a hero’s walk of honor as his body was wheeled down the hallways to the operating room. A team of doctors recovered his heart, liver, and both kidneys to give to children in desperate need of them.

Our family held a service at the hospital with Pastor Adams and Mr. Goodman of Trinity Lutheran Church, Berrien Springs. No other services will be held.

Please hold our family in your thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with our great loss and try to move forward. We look forward to Jesus Christ’s return, when we will be reunited with our son/brother and live in the presence of our Lord forever.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
