8th Annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day is Wednesday

Jill Adams has a very busy week ahead…but she’s got a lot of help from all sorts of volunteers willing to make her 8th Annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day at midweek into a roaring success once again.
Adams is Environmental Property Manager for Berrien County, and as such she runs the county’s highly involved recycling program which will feature another huge event on Wednesday afternoon from 3pm until 7pm at the Lake Michigan College Napier Avenue Campus parking lot. The highly successful event each year converts the college’s huge parking lot into a veritable drive-through recycling drop-off center for an amazing array of goods that you should avail yourself of.
On Wednesday, April 12, from 3pm to 7pm, the Berrien County Parks Department is partnering with Lake Michigan College to bring the 8th annual Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day event to the residents of Berrien County.
Here is a list of the accepted items at this big event:
  • Electronics including anything with a cord or that runs on batteries
  • Appliances
  • Household chemicals and batteries
  • Home medical waste
  • Magazines
  • Books
  • Hard foam or Polystyrene
  • Shoes
  • Eye glasses
  • Bicycles

MGU Tells Delinquent Payers Call Now

7th Annual Bottoms Up For a Cure Pub Run Coming

While Denise herself is, sadly, no longer physically with us, her spirit lives on eternally in the cast and crew that work each year to reconstitute that amazing run and they hope you’ll be a part of it this year.... ...Read Full Story

Orchards Mall Will Lose Payless Shoes

When word came last month that Payless ShoeSource was on the verge of filing for bankruptcy and potentially closing hundreds of stores in the near future, there was hope in Michigan’s Great Southwest that the Orchards Mall store would survive the cut, just as the Mall’s JCPenney store had done earlier in the month.
