RACERS Twilight 5K – Christmas Gift Edition

Join us for an early evening, timed 5K Run/Walk in Lawrence, with proceeds funding the purchase of Christmas gifts for children and families in need in Van Buren County. SWMI RACERS and the Van Buren Tech Center (VBTC) present the RACERS Twilight 5K – Christmas Gift Edition. This inaugural event is Thursday, October 18 at 6:00 pm, starting and finishing at the Van Buren Tech Center in Lawrence.
In 2016 and 2017, the Van Buren County Reserve Association selected 5 families from a list supplied by the Department of Human Services for families living in Van Buren County. These families of 3 – 6 members were provided gifts of clothing and toys based on age and gender and delivered before Christmas. Students enrolled at the VBTC in the Early Childhood Careers and Education (ECCE) program have shown an interest in working with children in a number of different career pathways. Proceeds from this event will allow the VBTC ECCE students to increase the number of families served in 2018. The students will work with the Van Buren County Reserve Association and participate in the selection and delivery of gifts to families.
FEES:
18 & Over : $20 through October 7, $25 October 8 through Race Day
Ages 17 & Under: $15 through Race Day
Paid registrations include a short sleeve event t-shirt, and entry into random drawing for door prizes
Awards to Male and Female Overall Finishers in both Run and Walk Divisions
Medals to Male and Female Age Group Winners in both Run and Walk Divisions
