The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center’s Latest Lecture: Ships and Boats of the Great Lakes

The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center hosts Chris Gillcrist, Executive Director of the National Museum of the Great Lakes, to explore the history of commercial vessels that have plied the Great Lakes for 340 years. Mr. Gillchrist will describe how economics and technology have shaped the design and purpose of these vessels, starting with LaSalle’s Griffon back in 1680 through today’s MV Mark W. Baker freighter that launched just last year. Guests can join for a free live presentation via Zoom or in person at the Heritage’s Parlor.
