JoAnn Collins, 81, of Sodus Township, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Lakeland Medical Center in St Joseph.
Services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Harbor. The visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday at the Fairplain Chapel. Cremation will follow the service and burial of the ashes will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus Township. JoAnn was born on Oct 23, 1934 in Springfield, Il. to Barber and Lilith St. John. She married John A. Collins in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage. JoAnn was the homemaker for her family. She loved watching and feeding her birds and doing all kinds of puzzles. She also enjoyed an adventure whether it be traveling to Florida in the winter with her husband or going to the casinos. JoAnn was always funny and laughing at something. She was a very caring and compassionate individual to both her family and her friends.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Nona (Richard) Miller of St Joseph, Cathi (Don) Sexton of Dowagiac, John A. (Susan) Collins, Jr. of Stevensville and Londa Collins of Eau Claire; her 9 grandchildren, Patrick, Lacy, Jalin, Michael, Joshua, Stacy, Christopher, Londa E, and Corey and her many great-grandchildren
