Yvonne Marie Booker Howard-Reese, 64, of Benton Harbor passed away on May 21, 2016 at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville, MI. The Celebration of Life will take place on May 31, 2016 at Second Baptist Church, 600 Donald Adkins Dr., Benton Harbor at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Pastor Kenneth Gavin will be officiating.

She was born August 25, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the late Lafayette Booker and Thelma Marie Wallace Booker-Thomas.

Yvonne married the late Joe Michael Reese, Sr. on June 23, 1991 in Gary, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2004. They moved to Benton Harbor from Gary, Indiana in 2003.

She retired from Volunteers of America in 2013 after 9 years of serving as a leasing agent/manager. She was a member of Second Baptist and very active at the church in such boards as the nursing, usher and media just to name a few.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her precious memories, four children, Jimmie Lewis Howard, Jr. and Sean Howard both of Grand Rapids, MI, Sharetta Howard, of Detroit, MI and Jeremiah Howard of Benton Harbor; one sister, Teresa Elizabeth Jones of Benton Harbor; five grandchildren; special cousin, Erma Ellis of Benton Harbor; special friends, Doris Howard, Stella & Vic Johnson, Lodie Elliott, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbur Scott, Pat Ward, Paula Burnside, Shirley Gooch, Debra Dancer, Elaine Watson and Dorothy Buchanan all of Benton Harbor, Leo & Stannie Smith, Berrien Springs, MI, Cynthia Garrett, Grand Rapids, MI, Joyce Morgan, South Bend, IN, Bonnie Taylor and Shirley Jean Morgan both of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Two brothers, Russell Johnson, Sr. and Kenneth Johnson, also preceded her in death.
