Sarah Louise Bennett, 93, of Buchanan passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at West Woods of Niles.
Sarah was born on December 16, 1923 to John and Willie Bell Matthews in Bridgeport, AL. She loved to crochet, knit, and tend to her garden. Sarah was a wonderful cook. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Johnnie) Hollingsworth; daughter-in-law, Clara Bennett; brother, Don Matthews; sisters, Rubye Hahn, Nana Rose Whittcher; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren. Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Don Clifford Bennett; parents, John and Willie Bell; sons, Rockford Duayne Bennett, Bayne Clifford Bennett, Kenneth Wayne Bennett, Ronald Edward Bennett; daughter, Zelphia Ann Gilbert; brothers, Bayne Matthews, Tony Matthews, James Luther Matthews; sisters, Edna Whitfield, Geneva Lemon; Doshie Matthews; grandchildren, Chad Edward, Karla Lynn, and Rocky Bennett.
Funeral Service for Sarah will be held at 1 pm on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Hoven Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
