Zita M. Danaher, 58, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles, MI. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Thurs. March 22, 2018 at the Old Tavern Inn in Sumnerville, MI starting at 4pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel – 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI.
Zita was born on Nov. 12, 1959 in Oak Lawn, IL to Thomas and Shirley (Gley) Gignac. She was a 1978 graduate of Oak Lawn High School. On March 17, 1990 she married Stephen P. Danaher. Zita worked for over 24 years as a short order cook at Hampshire Country Club Golf Course in Dowagiac. She loved her job and the people – especially all the golfers. Zita was very fond of her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Zita is survived by her husband Steve; her children – John Thomas Danaher of Granger, IN and Anita Zita Danaher of Dowagiac; grandchildren – Patrick, Sean and Aidan; and her father – Thomas ‘Red’ Gignac of Dowagiac. She is preceded in death by her mother-Shirley and a brother-Michael.
