Joanne McClinton, 74 of Benton Harbor departed this life on July 10, 2018 at home. Joanne was born September 26, 1943 in Bloomfield, MO to Rosie Lee Boyd and Rosco Childs. She was raised in Detroit and worked as a teacher’s aid in the Benton Harbor Area School System. Joanne enjoyed watching movies, soap operas and wrestling on Television. She also had fun, playing cards, cooking, taking care of her plants and spending time with family.
Joanne leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Karen Hightower, Joanne (Tommie) Jackson and Gloria McClinton; sons, Gino (Annette) Childs and James McClinton; sister, Tonia Childs; 10 grandchildren: 8 great grandchildren: aunt: Lena Swanigan: a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James McClinton; son, Ivan Childs; 5 sisters; 3 brothers.
