Larry Joe Goodger, age 61, of Vandalia, died peacefully Sunday evening, August 19, 2018 in the comfort of his mother’s residence.
He was born May 15, 1957 in Ferriday, Louisiana, the fourth of nine children born to Joseph and Geneva Goodger.
Larry was a kind and genuine person, always willing to help someone out. He was a simple man who lived for his family and loved ones. Larry was a great father and grandfather. He called his granddaughters every day if only to say “Hi.”
Larry will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Geneva Goodger of Vandalia; two sons, David (Erika) Goodger of Constantine, Adam Goodger of White Pigeon; two granddaughters, Jadyn Goodger, Ashlynn Goodger; five sisters, Rose Will of Cassopolis, Cindy Roland of Vandalia, Peggy Payne of Niles, Molly (Joe) Crowell of Edwardsburg, Elizabeth Webb of George, Washington; four brothers, Ron (Debra) Goodger of Cassopolis, Jessie Goodger of Edwardsburg, twins, Terry (Evelyn) Goodger of Cassopolis and Jerry Goodger of Vandalia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Goodger.
Family and friends will gather Friday, August 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. for a time of sharing memories and telling stories in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.
The family prefers contributions in Larry’s memory to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals of Southwest Michigan, 6955 West KL Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009.
