Police are just now revealing details on an early morning break-in at the Walgreens Pharmacy at the intersection of Napier & M-139 in Benton Charter Township nearly a week ago. In fact, they’re making it the Crime of the Week from Crime Stoppers.

Last Thursday, March 16, 2017 at approximately 5:40am, the Benton Township Police Department  was dispatched to the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 875 E. Napier Avenue to investigate a breaking and entering.  Two unknown suspects broke into the business and stole an undetermined amount of prescription drugs that were being stored in a locked cabinet.

Benton Township Detective Lt. Brian Smit is leading the investigation. Passersby had reported later that morning that the drive up window at the pharmacy was smashed in and the pharmacy itself was closed for the day that day. No further details have been provided by the police at this time, however they are asking for the public’s help in bringing the thieves to justice.

Crime Stoppers wants the persons responsible for this breaking and entering and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest.  Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
