Patricia Lane McNeely

Patricia Lane McNeely (79) passed peacefully at home on January 23, 2022. Patricia, better known as “Pat” to her friends and family, was born in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Allen “Frosty” and Ira (Crawford) Lane on August 12, 1942.
After moving their family from Arkansas to Michigan, the Lane family settled in a little country house, in Buchanan, MI, where Pat grew up and was a 1960 graduate of Buchanan High School.
Being the eldest of 5 kids, Pat’s early life had her caring for her young siblings while attending school as her parents worked. On August 2, 1961, she married Thomas McNeely, with whom she would spend 32 years with and raise 4 children. Pat worked various jobs before becoming a stay home mom and babysitter for several families during the late 80’s thru the early 90’s. She could be found at a football, baseball or softball field cheering on her Bucks or working a concession stand. She enjoyed crafting with her sister and sisters-in-law throughout the years, attending ceramics, taking classes at Erica’s in the old 100 Center, where she proudly took the blue ribbon for her handmade cabbage patch doll. She enjoyed camping with friends and family, mushroom hunting, fishing, and just spending time with family.
Later years you could find her working at Goodwill, where it fed her knack for finding a “good deal” and from where she would retire. Pat lived out her retirement years simply doing what she wanted, even if it was doing nothing at all.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Vickie who were waiting to welcome her home. She will be dearly missed by her surviving children, Mark (Leona) McNeely, Stacey (Tony) Williams, Scott (Missy) McNeely and Tara (Matt) Hitt, 9 grandkids, 6 great grandkids along with 20+ bonus grand & great grandkids. Also grieving her loss are her surviving siblings, Phil (Kathie) Lane, Linda (Tom) Davis and Stanley (Anne) Lane as well as many nieces and nephews.
With keeping with her wishes, Pat will be cremated and a celebration of life will take place later this year.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
