Nancy Jean Brinks, 85, of South Haven passed away Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at her home under Hospice Care with her loving special “Angel” shih tzu by her side. She was born March 16th, 1937 to Kenneth & Eleanor (Dawe) Claflin in South Haven, Michigan. She married Richard Brinks Sr. on November 26th, 1983 at the First United Methodist Church. Betty Jean (Smith) Zilke

Betty’s life began December 2, 1943, in Hayti, Missouri. She spent her childhood in Missouri eventually moving to Michigan. Betty worked for several years as a security guard at Cook Nuclear Plant. She also worked as a sand tech for Manley Brothers and she worked for several area gas stations. Outside of these employment opportunities her favorite “Job” was being the corn and pumpkin lady. Tammy Miller

Tamela “Tammy” Miller, age 58, of Niles, Michigan, loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on April 23, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
On July 2, 1963, Tammy was born to David Sr. and Dorothy (Allen) Pitcher in Niles, Michigan.
Tammy graduated from Niles Senior High School, class of 1982, where she then went on to work for a variety of different jobs. If you couldn’t find Tammy outside landscaping, it was almost guaranteed, that she was with her grandchildren, who she loved more than the world itself. She also had a big heart for her pets.
Preceding Tammy in death is her mother, Dorothy Pitcher and her brother, David Pitcher Jr.
Tammy will be missed by her husband, Michael of Niles, her children; Ashley Hamilton of Niles, Torrie Parks of Franklin, Tennessee, Derek Miller of Buchanan, and Amanda Miller of Dowagiac; her grandchildren; Dayton, Brayden, Brycen, Lexi, and Wyatt as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to celebrate Tammy’s life will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Garden at the Hope Mausoleum on Thursday, April 28, 2022 with services beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Tammy always looked forward to assisting during the annual Milano’s Golf Scramble to assist those with cancer; her family asked that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Milano’s Cancer Fund at 215 N. Seventeenth Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.

Dennis Dryden

Dennis Dryden, 76, of Niles, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville.
Clarence and Regina (Begin) Dryden were thrilled on August 3, 1945 when they welcomed their baby boy into their family in Detroit, Michigan.
After graduating Shaffer High School in 1965, Dennis continued his education at Northern Michigan University where he obtained his teaching degree, and probably of equal importance met his beloved, Jeanette St. Denis. They wed on August 16, 1969 and began a life that was to be filled with a vast array of experiences.
He was an educator who had the privilege of molding young minds in the Frankenmuth District, Bridgeport District, Berrien Springs District and most recently the Niles District. He served as the electronics department head, spearheaded and led with great success the VECA organization, and also served as a driver’s education instructor. Both he and Jeannette traveled to several different destinations in the Midwest with their RV, they loved to camp and frequently found time to visit the beautiful horse farms in Kentucky. Horse power was also a passion for him. He attended street rod shows in Arizona, California, and internationally to Cancun and Ireland.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette, his parents, his two brothers; Reginald and Donald Dryden, and his sister, Mary Manley.
Surviving Dennis are his two children, Andy (Amy) Dryden of Chicago, Matthew (Hope) Dryden of Moorsville, North Carolina, and his five grandchildren; Abigail, Jack, Grant, Aubrey, and Avery.
Visitation for Dennis will take place at Brown Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, 5 p.m. with the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, at 1 p.m.
Those wishing to make a donation in honor of Dennis have been asked to consider St. Mary’s Christian Services Food Pantry, 322 Clay St, Niles, MI 49120 or St. Mary Catholic School, 217 S. Lincoln Ave, Niles, MI 49120.
While Dennis’ work here on Earth is done, the lives that he has touched will continue to have a ripple effect not only in the Niles community but to many others communities where he devoted years to shaping young minds.

Mark Ross Hurray, 65, of Bridgman, Michigan, passed away on April 12, 2022 after a short illness. Mark was born on April 19, 1956 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Dr. Joseph J.
